FROM THE HEART
Christian Meditation was first introduced to me by Mrs. Ester on 25 June
2004.  I started joining the Meditation Group led by her on the following
month. We meet every Friday from 6.30 – 7 am. Since then I meditate for
20 minutes every evening before going to bed. I follow the there basic
rules: SILENT – STILLNESS and SIMPLICITY, closing my eyes while saying
the word: MA-RA-NA-THA from the beginning to the end of meditation.

I read John Main’s book, The Gethsemani Talks which was translated by
Carmelite Monk. After reading the book I feel confidence and I am faithful
to meditate in this way. The interesting and inspiring words are taken from
Rom 8:11: “… and if the Spirit of Him who raised Christ from among the
dead is within you, He who raised Christ from among the dead will also
give life to your mortal bodies” These words keep sounding in my heart
every time I meditate, I experience the presence of God in me. I enter into
my innermost being more deeply, and listen to the whisper of God there.

After practicing this kind of meditation regularly I feel a change in my life. I
become able to accept myself as I am with all my potentialities and my
weaknesses, good health and sickness, joys and sufferings. I feel more
peaceful, joyful and grateful for the breath of life. I have been suffering
from osteoporosis since three years ago. Gradually I feel much better
from this illness so that I can sit, walk and get into the car without much
difficulty. Why I should fear? “I am with you always until the end of this
world” (Mat 28:20). I surrender my life to God, the Divine Providence.

There were some people came to me and asked me to teach the way of
meditation. Firstly there were only seven people (the babysitters and the
parents of the school children). I started a new group in January 2005 and
we meet every Thursday morning from 7:30-8:00. Gradually the number of
meditators is increasing up to 30 people. Some of them come with
personal problems that need to be solved first so that they can enter the
    silent more easily.
