FROM THE HEART
    "In the year 2001, one of our BEC leaders, Roslyn McGuire, suggested
    forming a group to practice the John Main Method of Meditation.  This
    suggestion was enthusiastically received by only a handful of seven
    people initially.  However, with Patricia Boudeville's guidance on "How to
    meditate" over several weekly sessions, the response improved.  To
    date, our 'little community' has grown to fifteen regulars. We gather
    weekly at Roslyn's residence.  This weekly time of group meditation is a
    great source of encouragement and growth for most of us, especially
    those who find that even ten minutes of meditation on our own is so
    difficult.  The 'community' feeling is a great support.

    After each meditation session, the fellowship that follows is interesting -
    we share humorous incidents, exchange recipes, exchange home
    remedies for minor ailments - in short, we help each other, laugh
    together and, grow together.

    These are the thoughts and feelings of a few of us:

    Agnes -  “Meditation has brought me peace, that is, a realisation that
    God's love is infinite and I am able to detach myself from material things;
    become more tolerant towards others.”

    Monina -  “Meditation has taught me to let go of envy.”

    Jessie  -  “When I first joined the group, I just could not get into 'it'.  I was
    fidgety and could not concentrate.  But later on as I began to experience
    Christ's peace, I always went home joyful.”

    Margorie -  “When I first started meditation I just did not know what was
    happening.  But after attending a few times, I just got used to it and it has
    helped me a lot.”
